Mr. Christopher D. Horne
I feel especially blessed and humbled to be serving as the Principal of Charles & Lucille McDougle Middle School. My priorities are faith, family, and fun. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers!) I went on to play division I basketball at the College of William & Mary and the University of Pittsburgh. I earned a Master's in Public Management and Principal certification at Carnegie Mellon University. I began my professional career as a mathematics teacher, then a math coach, and then went into administration. My why: to have a positive impact on the quality of life of everyone I serve. I am going into my 8th year as a head principal (13 total years in administration) and bring with me experience and systemic knowledge from 5 different school districts.
With a top-notch staff, caring families, and amazing students, our potential is limitless at Charles & Lucille McDougle Middle School! We are focused on realizing our vision to work together with parents and community members to inspire learners through relationships, engagement, and rigor, in order to empower students to positively impact their community and the world as well as fully implement our district strategic plan: Think (and Act) Differently. I am excited to be a part of eliminating the achievement gap that exists in our school, improving our Dual Language and AVID Programs, increasing student voice, and working together with our families to take our learning environment to the next level!
